About
Hi, I'm Carey Walton.
I've always been interested in technical things. As a kid, I was into radios, cameras, thunderstorms, lightning, tools, model airplanes, etc. In Jr. High, I got my Amateur Radio License and in High School, I got my Radiotelephone License with Radar Endorsement and worked part time for the local Heathkit store.
After college and military service, I worked for several Radio Common Carriers (Radio Paging, Mobile Telephone) of which were in desparate need of new technology. Along the way, I started a small business on the side repairing amateur radio equipment and high end test equipment. I also added a small mill, lathe, welder, and other small tools to help with proto-typing and fabrication.
Over the next several years, I built out the shop to a full machine shop, welding shop, and fabrication shop with 15 employees. When cellular telephone emerged, we were the go to job shop in the telecom industries. Over the years, we designed and built anything from heavy mobile bases for machine tools to mobile cellular test and diagnostic systems. We did field work testing RF infrastructure on well over 2500 sites in the western states. We also provided educational services to our clientele and others related to our work in the telecom industry.
My shop is smaller now, but just as much fun, so stop by often and see what's new and interesting.
